10 NIGHTS/11 DAYS KASHMIR

DAY 01 :  ARRIVAL SRINAGAR AIRPORT -  - SRINAGAR

Welcome to Srinagar, The Lake City. On arrival at the Srinagar airport, you will be welcomed & received by our representative/driver, who will then escort you to a jetty around Dal Lake. Srinagar city visit local sightseeing that includes a visit to the famous Mughal gardens of Nishat and Shalimar. Built in between a period of 14 years the two gardens are a heritage left behind by the erstwhile Mughals, whose taste for laying exquisite gardens was fascinating. With a backdrop of the sprawling Zabarwan mountains, the gardens boast of green turfs, blooming flowers and cascading water fountains. We will explore the gardens and later drive back to the hotel. Overnight stay at Srinagar at the Hotel.

DAY 02 :  SRINAGAR -  - DAY TRIP GULMARG ( 52 KM – 02 HRS DRIVE)

After breakfast in the morning, we will begin our country tour towards Gulmarg.  We arrive at a small picturesue market town of Tangmarg and drive ahead on a scenic drive of 14 kilometers to Gulmarg. Later we will begin a short tour around the meadow familarising ourselves with the beauty. In Gulmarg we will board the Gondola cable (Guest own cost) car system, and ascend towards the Afarwatt Mountain range. The 08 minutes of ropeway will take you past colorful shepherd hutments to the lower ridge of the Afarwatt peak. From here you can click lots of photos of the nearby mountain ranges that stand tall like sentinels guarding the rich natural beauty of Kashmir valley. We descend back to Gulmarg base after an hour or so and later do some horse-riding to the strawberry valley. After visiting Gulmarg come back to Srinagar overnight stay in Srinagar.

DAY 03 : SRINAGAR -   - PAHALGAM - DISTANCE - 90 KM – 02 Hrs 30 Min DRIVE APPROX

We will begin our trip towards Pahalgam. This road connects the Valley to the rest of the country. We drive past the saffron fields of Pampore, the marvellous ruins of Avantipura and the village of Bijbehara which remains famous as the bread basket of Kashmir. You can even sample a few exotic breads sold by vendors near the road. We switch the the national highway at Khanabal and drive through the second largest city of Anantnag. From here the road turns scenic as we drive parallel on the Lidder river flowing from the opposite direction. In Pahalgam we check in at the hotel and later do some nature walks to unwind ourselves. On arrival in Pahalgam check in into the hotel evening is free for your own activities overnight stay in Pahalagm.  

DAY 04 : PAHALGAM LOCAL SIGHTSEEING -   - & RETURN TO SRINAGAR

After breakfast, enjoy panoramic views of Pahalgam town and Lidder Valley. Start with Aru Valley which is a small village, 15 km upstream the Lidder River, The route is picturesque with ample campsites. This village is the starting point for treks to the Kolahoi glacier. Later, visit Chandanwari, 16 Km which is the starting point of sacred Amarnath Yatra. Chandanwari is famous for snow sledging on a snow bridge, enroute you can visit Hajan, an idyllic picnic spot and Betaab valley. After Pahalgam local sightseeing drive towards Srinagar overnight stay in Srinagar.

Note - Srinagar Taxi is not authorized to do the local sightseeing of Pahalgam. So guests have to book a local taxi union car for Pahalgam local sightseeing.

DAY 05 : SRINAGAR  -   -  SONMARG - (80 KM) 2 HOURS 30 -   - KARGIL (125 KM) 3 HOURS 30

We begin our day with a sumptous breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast we will drive to the majestic mountain resort of Sonamarg. Sightseeing of Sonmarg i;e Vishansar Lake, Nilagrad River, White River Rafting at Shutkari Bridge at your own cost.  In Sonamarg we will take a 3 hour walk or horseback trip (Guest own cost) to the Thajwass glacier. After Sonmarg sightseeing guest will continue their journey towards Kargil – Via The most difficult section of this highway i.e. Zoji La (Zojila Pass) was a few hours away and you were eagerly waiting for an encounter with it. Conquering Zoji La (Zoji Pass or Zojila Pass) – “La” means pass. After crossing Zoji La the roads were very decent and at places went through snow walls on both sides. You had only covered 3 KMs after Zoji La where we saw a beautiful glacier and fresh water stream coming out of it that compelled you to take a halt. Drive towards Dras The Dras valley starts from the base of the Zojila pass, the Himalayan gateway to Ladakh. On the way you will explore Kargil War Memorial built alongside the highway in remembrance of sacrifices done by our armed forces during 1999 Kargil war. The memorial is built on the foothills of Tololong Hill and has a huge epitaph with names of all the officers and soldiers who gave supreme sacrifice in the war. On arrival in karil overnight stay in Kargil. 

Note - Srinagar Taxi is not authorized to do the local sightseeing of Sonmarg. So guests have to book a local taxi union car for Sonmarg local sightseeing.

DAY 06 : KARGIL  -  -  LEH   (220 KM – APPROX 05 HRS DRIVE) – VIA SHAM VALLEY SIGHTSEEING

Post breakfast embark on a drive to Leh which is 230 kilometers from Kargil town. En-route visit Mulbek, Giant Living Buddha Sculpture on Rock Mountain, Lamayuru, one of the oldest Monastery of Ladakh and enjoy the view of Moon Landscape, Magnetic hills, Sangum where Indus & Zanskar river meets, Pathar Sahab Gurudwara. By the evening, arrive Leh and check in at the hotel in Leh.

DAY 07 :  LEH  -  -  NUBRA VALLEY  - VIA KHARDUNG LA

 Wake up to a refreshing morning and travel to Nubra Valley, a cold desert with vast landscapes and mountain ranges. Feel the thrill of crossing one of the highest motorable passes in the world, Khardung La. Once you reach Nubra, enjoy a double humps camel ride in the Desert Mountains of Hunder (additional cost). Overnight stay at Camp in Nubra

DAY 08 : DAY VISIT  -  - TO TURTUK & THANG VILLAGE (170KM APPROX.)

Embark on a day trip to the remote village of Turtuk, India’s northernmost village located just 12 km from the Line of Control with Pakistan. From Hunder, it is a scenic 80-km drive along the Shayok river to reach Turtuk. The village is inhabited by approximately 3,500 Balti people, an ethnic group of Tibetan origin. The Balti people are Muslim and they have a unique culture. visited Turtuk palace & last village of Ladakh-Thang village(zero point- Indo-pak border. after visiting drive back to Hunder by same route. Overnight stay in Nubra

DAY 09 :  NUBRA VALLEY -  - DISKIT MONASTERY via  SHAYOK -  - PANGONG LAKE

Wake up at morning. After breakfast visit Diskit monastery & drive to Pangong via Shayok. Pangong lake(14,500ft, highest saltwater lake), it’s an unimaginable 135kms long with almost  70% of the lake in China. Its part of the Changthang geographical setting in the higher Himalayas. Overnight stay in Pangong


DAY 10 :  PANGONG LAKE - CHANG LA PASS – LEH

Take a stroll along the shore of Pangong lake and watch the sunrise over the glistening blue waters. The lake is a wonderful place for wildlife enthusiasts as it serves as a breeding site for various migratory birds. Next, go back towards Leh. After driving over the Chang La pass located at an altitude of 5,360m, you reach Chemrey village where you can visit the beautiful Chemrey monastery rising above the

barley fields. The monastery was built in the 17th century in memory of the king Sengge Namgyal. In the Indus valley, head to Leh. On arrival you can visit local market for shopping after that come back to hotel overnight stay in Leh. 

DAY 11 : HOTEL  -   -  LEH AIRPORT  CATCH FLIGHT FOR BACK TO HOME
